August 2012 Berg Family Update

Dear Family & Friends,

Acts 1 Gathering in Colorado Springs

Michael was a part of the leadership team that called YWAM base leaders throughout North America to come together and pray for God’s direction as we get ready for the next major wave of missionaries.  We in YWAM Orlando are working diligently to get our campus ready and train up leaders so that we can participate with God in training and launching this next wave of missions.

YWAM Orlando Staff Training and Retreat

Once a year, we hold a time of staff training and retreat after all the summer outreaches have returned.  For staff training this year, we met on our Orlando campus and had our evening sessions next door at Woodlands Lutheran Church.  We are so very grateful for how they have served us in the extended transition.  This year, Kristen, along with a team, led all the worship times during our staff training.  

Our commitment is to be very intentional about our ongoing growth and then, as leaders, to express our appreciation to our staff by taking them on a retreat (family vacation).  What a wonderful family we have at YWAM Orlando!  It’s hard to believe that we now have 91 staff (though not all of them made it to the retreat).

Berg Family Vacation

In between Michael’s leadership at the Colorado Springs conference and our leadership in the YWAM Orlando staff training, we were able to squeeze in a brief vacation and family reunion with Michael’s family.  We stayed at his sister’s home on a lake in the Detroit area, and as always, it was wonderful to spend time with family.

Offering Report YWAM Orlando February 3, 2012

Offering at YWAM Orlando

Darla and I are so amazed that our community of missionaries who already live so sacrificially continually move in tremendous generosity. Today a staff member inspired us to take an offering to help with the $25,000 we needed for the rest of the materials for our water main, and fire hydrants. To our amazement $14,805.18 came in! God is amazing!!!! What a privilege to be a part of this wonderful missional family.
