We had many power company workers from Louisville, Kentucky that joined Duke Energy to repair the power leading to our campus. We asked if they could fix the downed power lines on our campus and at first, they said that they would not be able to help us at this time. Over the course of time, our staff reached out to these volunteers, offered the use of our campus to park, provided fresh drinking water, and invited them to join us for lunch. Then, to our amazement, a gap opened up in their schedule and they decided that while they waited to be assigned to their next job that they would clear the trees off our downed lines and make the necessary repairs. The Duke Energy supervisor agreed and allowed them to help us. So, within about four hours, this army of power company workers had our lines cleared, repairs made, and power restored. What has normally taken us many weeks to get accomplished in the past was taken care of in an afternoon.

Hurricane Irma hits us around 2 AM on September 11th
September 10, 2017: YWAMers from a couple other YWAM Bases arrive to shelter with us at YWAM Orlando. Darla and I also had a total of 12 in our home. Hurricane Irma approaches and we lose power at about 8:30 PM
On September 11th at 2:00 AM winds are howling, water is seeping into our home, but the structure remains sound. We checked it out and saw only minor damage on the outside of our house, but will have to paint the ceiling inside.
All are safe at YWAM Orlando and no major building damage. Lots of downed trees and some power lines are down. The main road to the campus was blocked from both directions due to downed trees and power lines. Although many trees fell around our campus as a result of Hurricane Irma they all missed our buildings. Even in the RV Park where some of our staff live in their RV's, none suffered damage from falling trees. How astonishing! We are so grateful to the Lord!

We attended YWAM International's University of the Nations Workshop in Costa Rica - BUT LEFT EARLY for Hurricane Irma
Darla and I were in Costa Rica but had to leave early due to Hurricane Irma bearing down on Florida. Please join us in prayer for the Lord's wisdom and protection.
